Zonta Club Seeking Nominations for 2014-2015 Woman of the Year Award

Is there a woman of the community who gives more than most? Is there someone you know that is a leader in everything she does? If you do, what would be more fitting than to nominate her to be the Zonta Club of Bonita Spring’s 2014-2015 Woman of the Year!

The Club is now accepting nominations for its 2014-2015 Woman of the Year Award which will be presented at the Club’s Annual Dessert Auction being held Tuesday November 25, 2014, at Spanish Wells Country Club, in Bonita Springs. The deadline for applications is Sept 15, 2014.

Since 1998, the Club has selected a Woman of the Year from nominations of women who are well known for their philanthropic and service contributions to improve the local community. Former recipients have all played key leadership roles in local charitable organizations and foundations or may have worked tirelessly on women’s issues that represent the heart of the Club’s mission; to improve the circumstances of women at all stages of life, both locally and globally.

Past recipients of this award include: Lori Nelson, Jennifer Benton, Trish Leonard, Jane Wheatley, Arden McCurdy, Cherrill Cregar, Fran Luessenhop, Nancy Near, Marjorie Rubacky, Patsy Graham, Nancy Keefer, Diane Lepola, Barbara DuFrane, Jacke McCurdy, Marie Tranovich and Jane Hogg.

If you know a woman who exemplifies the community spirit demonstrated by past recipients of this award and would like to nominate her, please submit a brief biography including personal information about the nominee, their careers, the charitable organizations with which they are currently and formerly involved and their perspective on the community’s strengths as it pertains to women’s issues.

Send submissions to: Patty Gift, Past President of the Zonta Club of Bonita Springs at: patty.gift@RaymondJames.com.  Nominees will be voted on by a selected committee.
