Mission Statement: The Zonta Club of Bonita Springs, Inc. is an organization of business and professional women dedicated to improving the circumstances of women at all stages of life, locally and globally.
Zonta has made a difference in the lives of many women!
Since 1919 Zontians have been working around the world to improve the lives of women through our global service and advocacy efforts designed to promote programs to ensure the safety, education, healthcare and overall economic sufficiency of women throughout the world.
Our local chapter is a group of dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to make a difference in the community in which we live. In 2014 we celebrate our 20th year of service to the Bonita Springs community, and I am excited as to what lies ahead for this amazing group of women.
As a member of the Zonta Club of Bonita Springs since 2005, I have witnessed our Club grow and give back to the community.
I welcome your questions about our organization and how you can fit in!
I would like to extend a personal invitation to you to attend our membership meetings or take part in our many volunteer opportunities.
With warmest regards,
Karen Berens, President
Across Bonita Springs, no woman is more deserving of the Zonta WOY Award this year than Christine Ross, CEO and President, BS Chamber of Commerce. “Since coming to the Chamber in 2009,” stated Zonta BS President Karen Berens, “Ross continues today, 5 years later, as the driving force of a rejuvenated, growing business community–prospering and changing to meet the present and future needs of Bonita.”
“When awarding this honor, our Zonta Club seeks women who are both community leaders and outstanding volunteers, trustworthy, loyal and giving.” Past Women of the Year exemplify these qualities and continue today as leaders and strong community supporters. Ross’ work, and that of Chamber staff and members, focuses not only on economic development and growth, but equally important—enhancing the quality of life of all citizens.
Christine’s passion lies in mentoring and education. Through the Lee County School District Foundation, she guides high school at-risk young women to successful graduation and beyond. Additionally, she is adviser, leader and counselor for her staff, challenging them to grow, learn, and prosper. She presently serves on several prominent Boards of Directors: The Speakers Assembly of Southwest Florida; The Bonita Springs Community Foundation, and the Association of Commerce Executives. She is also on the Community Advisory Boards of both Grandeur Magazine and the News-Press Advisory Board.
Ross will receive her award publically at the Zonta Club of Bonita Springs Signature Dessert Auction and Luncheon to be held Tuesday, November 25 at Spanish Wells Golf & Country Club. Sponsorships and individual tickets are on sale and can be purchased here on our website or by contacting Flo Rogers: (239)-253-1996 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
